Squid Motif for a Racing Suit

The client wanted a custom squid motif for a leather racing suit, with flowing, Celtic knot-inspired tentacles and a distinctive squid head. Initial ideas leaned towards a more intricate head design, alongside a preference for smooth lines and a simple silhouette.
I explored several squid head designs and tentacle arrangements, including more detailed options based on the initial concept. After considering how the different elements worked together, I recommended simplifying the squid head to create a cleaner overall silhouette and let the tentacles take center stage. The client agreed with this direction, and I refined the design for the final application.
The finished illustration was printed on the client’s leather racing suit, taking the design from a digital concept to a wearable piece of custom artwork.
